Student Work- 2D Design

These projects were all designed to work with principles of art and design valued by the schools.  New projects can be created to suit the needs of new schools.

Above and below, stipple drawings from black and white photographs, showing source photo and student drawing.

black and white logo

color temperature collage- two seasons of the year (acrylic paints on paper)

color wheel/tints and shades/complementary color mix, acrylic paints on paper

color still life paintings, acrylic paints on paper

The next four are studies of color palettes, students given 6 options, of which they had to choose 4 to do.   Image source was a black and white photo of their choosing.  Values in the source were to be a factor in how the colors were chosen. Acrylic on paper.

The next two are examples of a project where students were asked to create a board game with the design based on the artwork of a particular artist of their choosing.  Game theme/title would relate to that as well. Had to include some kind of path and some kind of goal to win the game. Acrylic on mat board.

These are mixed media collages, involving images cut from outside sources, drawn images (pencil, marker, etc) and painted images (acrylics). Subjects were determined by randomly chosen words, picked by students from hats, and assembled to create a random phrase.  Above, "City of Zoo", below, "Untamable Deluge"
